The Conference on public – private partnership - the Canadian experience

Ms Jasna Golubic, Head of Department for the construction of the city, attended on 31 January the „Conference on public –private partnership- the Canadian experience“, organized by the Agency for public-private partnership and the Canadian Embassy in the Republic of Croatia.
The participants were addressed by Mr Radimir Cacic, senior vice president of the Croatian Government and the MinisterofEconomy, HE EdwinLoughlin, Ambassadorof Canada to the Republic of Croatia, and Mr Kamilo Vrana, director of the Agency for Public-Private Partnership.
Canadian experts presented their successful experiences of PPP projects. Public-private partnerships in Canada are considered as the most developed and most respected in the world,with over 150 projects in 11 sectors, including various infrastructure projects.
City ofKoprivnica in cooperation with Koprivničko-Križevačka County, is one of the first cities that initiated the construction of public facilities on the principle of public-private partnership. The construction of the grammar school "Fran Galovic" and its sports hall was the first facility of its kind built in Croatia and the winner of a series of important awards such as the Award of the Association of Croatian Architects Viktor Kovacic, "State Award" Vladimir Nazor for architecture and urban planning , the Mies van der Rohe Award granted by the European Commission and the inclusion among the ten most important buildings in Croatia in the last 20 years by Jutarnji list daily paper.
